In the year 1892, the late Qing Dynasty archaeologist Mu Wen Shan was seeking an ancient map that exposes hidden treasures and wealthy resources. While he was looking for this map, he was pursued by two mysterious forces. In order to save his friend’s son Yang Xu, Mu Wen Shan and his wife made the ultimate sacrifice by giving their lives, along with those of their two sons, the youngest of whom was named Mu Tian Shu.

Twenty years later, Yang Xu traveled back to the Western Regions, posing as his deceased friend Mu Tian Shu so that he might examine the circumstances behind the deaths of the Mu family.

Along the southern section of the Silk Road, Mu Tianshu looked for the mysterious old image. Not only did he find the reality of the scheme 20 years ago, but he was also able to expose the Japanese bandits who were pretending to be an archaeological team so that they might steal the riches from the Western Regions. He achieved both of these things with remarkable ease. Yang Xiang goes from being a carefree teenager who is uninterested in current events to be a warrior who protects China’s territory and its riches.

He is responsible for keeping both safe. They form an alliance with the officer of the Kashgar region, Yang Dingchen, and guide the outside armies to a battleground in the Pamir Mountains. In the Kunlun Mountains, Mu Tianshu employed the strategies of the ancient people to get the bandits to follow him by playing on their desire to amass wealth, and then he used the Yitian Wanli Long Sword to put an end to them under the tomb of King Zhou Mu and Queen Mother of the West.
