Season three of Demon Slayer is absolutely on the way, so fans who were scared that we’d seen the last of Tanjiro and Nezuko (and everyone else) may relax.

After an epic ending that included some of Demon Slayer’s most stunning combat sequences to date, the enormously successful anime program closed up its second season in May of 2022.

Demon Slayer also had a successful year because of the massive success of the spinoff/sequel film Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. When Mugen Train was released in 2020, it became the highest-grossing Japanese film of all time at the worldwide box office.

So, now that the dust has cleared in the entertainment district, what lies ahead for Tanjiro and the Hashira Corps in their continuous battle against Muzan Kibutsuji? Here’s all we know about the third season of Demon Slayer.

Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko will head to the titular town in the Swordsmith Village arc, where things will undoubtedly turn evil. Hashiras are also engaged in Demon Slayer season 3 as you’ll see below. Given how their participation in Tanjiro’s previous escapades left a path of disaster in their wake, we can only anticipate the stakes to be raised and things to grow more dramatic from here. More information may be found in our Demon Slayer season 3 guide.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Release Date

We have fantastic news: Demon Slayer season three has a release date! The show will launch in April 2023, which is far sooner than we anticipated.

The Swordsmith Village Arc will also begin with a one-hour special episode, rather than the regular 22-minute duration.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Trailer

Earlier this year, the first Demon Slayer season 3 trailer was released. Unfortunately, it largely serves as a review of previous events.

There are some snippets of new video, though: the Love and Mist Hashira can be seen individually in the sizzle reel, and a new blade (later carried by Tanjiro) is being manufactured at the Swordsmith Village. You may watch it in its entirety above.

The addition of some essential (old) videos of the Mist and Love Hashiras, who we know will play a significant part in the third season, is the most remarkable feature.

If we estimate a late 2023 launch for Demon Slayer season 3, we may expect a full trailer in June 2023 based on past seasons. Keep an eye on this place.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Cast

Although the third season of Demon Slayer has yet to be announced, we can expect the majority of the actors from the first and second seasons to return. Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, and Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji, who were both originally presented in episode 21 of season one, will be the two main newcomers.

Keeping this in mind, below are the Japanese and English voice performers for Demon Slayer’s main characters:

  • Tanjiro Kamado – Natsuki Hanae / Zach Aguilar (English)
  • Nezuko Kamado – Akari Kitô / Abby Trott (English)
  • Inosuke Hashibira – Yoshitsugu Matsuoka / Bryce Papenbrook (English)
  • Zenitsu Agatsuma – Hiro Shimono / Aleks Le (English)
  • Muzan Kibutsuji – Toshihiko Seki / Greg Chun (English)
  • Kagaya Ubuyashiki – Toshiyuki Morikawa / Matthew Mercer (English)
  • Water Hashira, Giyu Tomioka – Takahiro Sakurai / Johnny Yong Bosch (English)
  • Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji – Kana Hanazawa / Kira Buckland (English)
  • Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito – Kengo Kawanishi / Griffin Burns (English)
  • Flower Hashira, Kanae Kocho – Ai Kayano / Bridget Hoffman (English)
  • Tsuguko Kanao Tsuyuri – Reina Ueda / Brianna Knickerbocker (English)

Key members of the production team will also return, including original narrative director Koyoharu Gotoge, director Haruo Sotozaki, and character designer Akira Matsushima.

Demon Slayer Season 3 plot

Season three’s narrative will be based on the ninth arc of the original manga, the Swordsmith Village arc.

It’s worth mentioning that the Demon Slayer manga officially ended in 2020, creating a unique circumstance for anime viewers to learn (approximately) what the future holds for Tanjiro and the crew.

Spoilers follow!

The Swordsmith Village arc immediately follows the end of the Entertainment District arc, which saw Tanjiro and Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui battle the demon twins Gyutaro and Daki.

Fortunately, Tanjiro’s demon-slaying sword was the sole lasting victim of this epic combat.

Tanjiro will come to the Swordsmith Village in season three to get his sword restored by Hotaru Haganezuka.

Tanjiro and company will, of course, be attacked by a swarm of demons while there (including an Upper-Rank Six that splits themselves across multiple bodies). Fortunately, Muichiro Tokito, Mist Hashira, comes in to manage the thread.

Satoshi Hino (Rengoku) identified the key to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s worldwide popularity.

“I’m thrilled to hear that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Japanese animation have struck a chord with many abroad viewers.” Caring for one’s family, the value of life, and living one’s life to the fullest are some of the topics explored in this anime, to which people all around the world may connect. I consider myself extremely fortunate that everyone on the planet has united and shares this shared opinion.”

Season three will continue to deepen these crucial issues if the program is to expand its popularity.

Demon Slayer season 3 Where to Watch
