Story

Against the Current follows Shen Jia Lan, the granddaughter of a noble family whose peaceful life is destroyed when her family is falsely accused of treason. Overnight, she loses her status, reputation, and future.

Her former fiancé, Lin Jin Qi, abandons her when her family falls from grace. With nowhere else to turn, Shen Jia Lan is forced to hide her true identity and enter Lin Jin Qi’s household as a servant.

Life as a servant is filled with humiliation and hardship, but Shen Jia Lan refuses to surrender to her fate. Using her intelligence, resilience, and quick wit, she gradually overcomes the barriers between their different social classes.
