In the first episode of the Amazon series, Chris Pratt’s James Reece established himself as a fan favorite, but it seemed that he had fulfilled his task after crossing every person off his kill list, leaving a wreckage of explosions, bodies, and blood in his wake.

So, what’s the next step? Or was this a one-time, huge success?

The Terminal List Season 2 Release Date

When The Terminal List debuted in July 2022, it turned out to be an enormous phenomenon for Prime Video. According to FlixPatrol, it spent more than two months among the Top 10 shows in countries like Belgium, Spain, Sweden, and the Netherlands.

However, as of December 2022, there has been no word on whether or not The Terminal List would return for a second season. Nevertheless, Pratt assures viewers that they shouldn’t worry.

On Jack Carr’s podcast, the actor encouraged his listeners, saying, “To the fanatical followers of The Terminal List out there, you have nothing to worry about.” “We adore you and value your assistance. Our life’s work is making sure you can return to the well. We are hard at work.”

Carr continued with these encouraging comments and added:

There might be some interesting future developments under discussion.

Reece killed everyone who was responsible for the deaths of his family and troop when we last saw him sailing away in peace. While the issue of vengeance has been resolved, he still needs to deal with the fatal brain tumor that was a factor at the beginning of this awful sequence of events.

Given the death sentence he received in season one, it appears that at least some sort of ticking clock is awaiting him. However, Chris Pratt is still able to reprise the role.

The actor who played the mourning Navy SEAL revealed the following in an interview with Digital Spy when asked about a follow-up series: “Jack Carr has produced five outstanding books.

“He is a rather prolific writer, and all of his books are among the best-selling titles according to the New York Times. To continue it, in my opinion, would be terrific.”

Additionally keen to continue the show, executive producer David DiGilio stated to ComicBook.com: “Yes, cross your fingers. We’re incredibly fortunate that Jack [Carr] writes a novel every year at such a breakneck speed.

“He may be too far away since it’s a little faster than we can produce the shows. Just take a quick rest, I advise.”

Pratt was about to enter negotiations for season two, Jack Carr said in late August, according to the Mail.

“Both Chris and Amazon are interested in doing it. But it may all go wrong “said he. “Based on the second book True Believer, the series would have eight episodes. We’ll see.”

We nearly murdered Chris the last time, he continued. “He bore the burden of the show on his shoulders, but he never once grumbled. He was essentially in every scene. It was laborious. To relieve him of some of the burdens in the upcoming series, I’ve incorporated a few subplots.”

There are some elements that can be challenging. The second book in the series, if you’ve read the others, is set in a real place,” he said to Collider. “With my own family at home, I kind of have a rule that I have to keep in terms of how much location work I do.

“Because it was filmed in LA, I was able to fit it in between two location assignments. I would have to defend giving up a movie to work on a season of this show if we continued the series and it turned into location work, which I very well might do. Only time will tell. I really want to. It would be amazing, in my opinion. I adore the protagonist.”

Constance Wu did a fantastic job portraying the brave journalist Katie Buranek, so perhaps we’ll see her again.

More of a stretch is Taylor Kitsch. Ben, one of his characters, and Reece shared a kinship that was as strong as thieves. But finally, his treachery and his participation in the cover-up that resulted in numerous murders and for which Reece sought retribution came back to haunt him.

Reece appears to have shot and killed his best friend, but since it happened off-screen, it’s possible that he didn’t actually bleed to death and might yet make a comeback. Crossing fingers. We cherished him!

More probable outcomes include JD Pardo’s portrayal of FBI agent Tony Liddle and Christina Vidal’s portrayal of Mac Wilson, Liddle’s colleague.

The Terminal List Season 2 Plot

The plot may hinge on an explanation of how Reece was able to survive his lethal tumor. It’s improbable that Reece would have sought a cure because he had already accepted his demise and had lost all will to live after the deaths of his wife and children.

In terms of how he interprets this reality and where he goes from here on out, if the tumor was not lethal after all as they had thought, it might open up a whole other can of worms.

The FBI agent was having trouble coming to terms with his choice to let Reece go free. However, if he made the decision to find Reece, it might get them both into danger (Reece already proved he would not be coming willingly).

Wu’s persona Reece insisted that Katie not continue her search for him, but Katie resolved to do just that. It will be interesting to see how she fits into the narrative.

Then there is the issue of the original material. Although there is no assurance that the program will proceed in the same manner as the books, if it does, James will become involved in a new operation that begins with a puzzling plane accident. Given that DiGilio claimed True Believer will serve as a “wonderful model for season two,” it is beginning to seem very plausible that this will be the case.

In the movie True Believer, a former Iraqi commando who has disappeared into the European underworld is seen to be organizing a string of terrorist assaults against the West.

Reece goes into hiding in Mozambique after exacting revenge on those who killed his family members during the events of The Terminal List. He is currently the most sought domestic terrorist alive.

But soon after, the CIA finds him and uses a presidential pardon to lure him into traveling the globe and hunting down terrorist leaders. Reece discovers “a geopolitical scheme that reveals a treacherous CIA officer” and “a geopolitical conspiracy that exposes a sinister assassination plot with global ramifications.”
