The fourth season of Never Have I Ever is unquestionably coming, although the exact date of the Netflix sensation’s comeback is still unknown.
However, considering that this is the final season, perhaps we should enjoy the wait.
“The fourth season is good; we just finished it. Just goes to show how difficult it is to say goodbye to characters you enjoy creating “Mindy Kaling, the creator, remarked (via Entertainment Weekly).
“Character development takes time for authors. Because you create a pilot, recruit people, and then get into a rhythm, many series of my generation lasted for five seasons or more. But I have a feeling that, in a few years, I’ll look back on this and think, “No, that was better than it stopped then.” However, I’m not yet prepared to accept it.”
Speaking of figuring things out, Devi is beginning to understand that men aren’t everything in life, which is fortunate given that her senior year of high school is quickly approaching.
Devi has a lot of life and love lessons to learn, and with things clearly heating up with Ben, we have to wonder what’s next for her, her group of best friends, and her family as Never Have I Ever comes to a conclusion with the forthcoming fourth season.
At least you have us to explain everything to you as we all look forward to the future.
As Devi prepares for her upcoming major relocation, here is all you need to know.
Never Have I Ever Season 4 Release Date
The release date for Never Have I Ever’s last season has not yet been announced, however, based on previous seasons, we can probably anticipate it sometime in the summer of 2023.
The first season debuted in April 2020, and the second and third seasons came out in July and August, respectively.
As a result, season four should probably take place within a comparable timeframe. However, the show has already wrapped up filming, so there’s a good chance the series may premiere sooner than anticipated. Stay tuned for updates!
The fourth season of the show, which was announced by the show’s creator Mindy Kaling and Netflix, will be the last in March 2022, so this is definitely the last time we’ll be seeing Sherman Oaks High School.
Never Have I Ever Season 4 Cast
Without Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi, our main lady, Never Have I Ever simply wouldn’t be the same. As such, anticipate her return to the scene to manage school, family, and boys with elegance and decorum—or at least as much as she is able to muster.
However, she would never leave her friends, Lee Rodriguez (Fabiola), Ramona Young (Eleanor), and Megan Suri, behind (Aneesa).
The boys in her life are also undoubtedly significant since, at this moment, what else is there?
Given where we last saw Jaren Lewison (Ben) in season three, it is almost certain that he will return. However, despite playing a major role in Devi’s life, it appears Darren Barnet (Paxton) will play a smaller part in the final season as his character will be moving to Arizona to begin college after graduating.
Lang Fisher, the show’s creator, stated to Deadline: “Paxton Hall-Yoshida is in season four, I just want you to know that. The love triangle is still going on since he is involved as much as in season three.”
Of course, Devi’s family, including Poorna Jagannathan (Nalini), Ranjita Chakravarty (Nirmala), and Richa Moorjani (Kamala), will be there to support her throughout this challenging academic year as well.
After making his debut in season two, Utkarsh Ambudkar (Manish Kulkarni) became a more significant cast member in season three. He was formerly Devi’s cool school teacher, but now he is Kamala’s well-intentioned boyfriend.

With the entrance of Ivan Hernandez as a mysterious man named Andres, it appears that Kamala and Devi aren’t the only ones in the family experiencing lovebug-like symptoms. Ivan Hernandez is also a star of The Good Wife and NCIS.
Showrunner Lang hinted to Deadline that “a great hunk” would be joining the cast for season four. Nobody was prepared when Common’s character, Dr. Chris Jackson, entered the plot during Devi’s second year (season 2).
“Nalini acknowledges that she wasn’t prepared. Andres, played by Ivan, appears in Devi’s senior year after everyone has had a bit more time to sort of absorb things and be in a new place.
Niecy Nash (Dr. Ryan), who will serve as Devi’s therapist and complete the cast, and John McEnroe, who always provides Devi’s inner monologue, round out the group.
If we cross our fingers, he may perhaps make one final appearance.
Never Have I Ever Season 4 Plot
When Devi showed up at Ben’s place to utilize the joke “one free boink” voucher he had given her, Never Have I Ever ended on a bit of a cliffhanger.
He stated he didn’t want her to leave for a year-long school program away from California, which convinced her to make the choice once she realized she still had feelings for him.
Devi ultimately made the decision to stay, but not because of him, but rather because she wasn’t prepared to let go of her mother Nalini as swiftly following the loss of her father.
After graduating, Paxton will attend Arizona State University, but it is unknown how he feels about Devi. Despite the fact that during his graduation address, he made it a point to specifically thank her for helping him grow, it appears like both of them are okay with breaking up.
The love triangle is the skeleton of the show, and you can’t take it away for the final season, Lang added, implying that Paxton might still be making a final attempt to win Devi’s affection.
“However, we wanted Devi to say farewell to Paxton in the climactic episode of season three. After whatever has happened [between Devi and Ben], there will be entertaining and intriguing things that happen in season four.”
Nalini is still adjusting to life without Mohan in other places, and after a potential relationship in season 2 and a purported friendship in season 3, it could be time to watch her stand on her own two feet.
Before they leave for college and possibly away from each other for their safety, our girls’ senior year will be the main event, so there are many things to cram in to make it one to remember.
By the time it’s done, we predict there will be some tears.
