Luke Macfarlane Career
On the Sundance Channel, Macfarlane had an early part opposite Cynthia Nixon in Robert Altman’s miniseries Tanner on Tanner. Following that, he starred in the 2005 FX series Over There (as PV2 Frank “Dim” Dumphy) and the 2009 two-part miniseries Iron Road.
On ABC’s Brothers & Sisters, Macfarlane played Scotty Wandell, the husband of Kevin Walker (played by Matthew Rhys), one of the show’s “brothers.”
Jason Howell in the Canadian sitcom Satisfaction, Rick Lincoln on NBC’s The Night Shift, and others are among Macfarlane’s other prominent television roles.
Chaplain Hopkins in PBS’ Mercy Street and D’avin Jaqobis on Syfy’s Killjoys as the lead role.
Macfarlane has also been in television films such as The Memory Book, Christmas Land, Maggie’s Miracle Christmas, The Birthday Wish, and The Mistletoe Promise, all of which aired on the Hallmark Channel (2016).
From November 14 to December 21, 2003, Macfarlane played one of the four leads in Juvenilia at Playwrights Horizons Theater.
In May 2004, he portrayed the lead in the American premiere of the play Where Do We Live, which was performed at the Vineyard Theater.
The show received a nomination for Outstanding New York Theater: Broadway and Off-Broadway at the 2005 GLAAD Media Awards. In Summer 2006, he appeared in the off-Broadway production of The Busy World is Hushed, again at Playwrights Horizons, alongside Jill Clayburgh and Hamish Linklater.
From February 7–11, 2007, he repeated his role as Thomas for the L.A. Premiere at the Skirball Cultural Center.
Howard Ashman’s unproduced musical Dreamstuff was staged by Macfarlane for a one-night celebrity performance. Howard’s associates Marsha Malamet and Dennis Green reimagined the musical for a one-night-only performance at Los Angeles’ Hayworth Theater as part of the Bruno Kirby celebrity reading series, directed by actor Michael Urie.
Luke appeared alongside Eden Espinosa, Vicki Lewis, Fred Willard, and David Blue in the show.
In February 2015, Macfarlane starred in the world premiere of the stage play Reverberation at Hartford Stage in Connecticut.
Macfarlane was the lead singer and songwriter for the band Fellow Nameless, which he formed with some of his classmates at Lester B. Pearson School for the Arts in eighth grade under the name Slipnaught, which they choose at random from a dictionary because they had no name for the band when it came time to perform on stage. Fellow Nameless was formed as a result of the band members’ dislike for the original moniker and was born at London Central Secondary School.
Fellow Nameless released one underground album, a half-studio, half-live CD album, and they recorded an extra ten tracks that were never released, including three songs recorded for a Maverick Records development agreement. They performed a showcase for Danny Strick, Maverick Records’ A&R, but were ultimately passed over.
Fellow Nameless, a band from London, Ontario, that was originally assumed to be defunct, went through two versions without Macfarlane as lead singer. Van A Primer and a new singer, Matthew Pearn, formed the band’s first iteration in the second quarter of 2004. As of March 2006, their current iteration features three of the remaining band members under the new name Cancel Winter.

When it comes to engaging with the media, the main problem is ensuring that people realize the distinction.
He went on to say that his previous character as Scotty in the TV show Brothers and Sisters, in which he is also homosexual, had a significant influence on him. Furthermore, because he was essentially projecting himself on Scotty every time he played the role, the show gave him the strength to accept who he was.
Macfarlane is a cellist, and his talent was showcased in the Hallmark film Chateau Christmas. He’s also a trumpet player.

Luke Macfarlane Boyfriend
In 2008, after Luke came out as gay, there was a report that he was dating Prison Break star, Wentworth Miller. Wentworth Miller didn’t come out as gay until 2013 after the rumor had been going about for years.
When the rumor began in 2008, he had not acknowledged his sexuality. Before the 2010s, there was a lot of talk about Luke and his purported boyfriend Wentworth Miller. We couldn’t uncover any images of the two ever being together because neither party verified or denied they were in a relationship.
They’ve also never starred in a film or television show together.
Luke Macfarlane and his purported boyfriend Wentworth Miller were dating for six months, according to the Perez Hilton website. The report was released in June of 2007, and it quoted a source who said the couple was considering moving in together.
Though we are unable to confirm the actor’s relationship status, we do know that Luke wishes to marry his boyfriend one day. The actor remained tight-lipped about his relationship status in an interview with The Globe and Mail but said that filming the marriage scene in Brothers & Sisters gave him hope for the future.
Luke, on the other hand, wants to keep his life secret regardless of his preferences. “I am convinced that there is a difference between disclosing my sexual inclination and disclosing my most private thoughts. My sexual orientation, like the color of my skin, is an indisputable component of who I am. “I’ve never been interested in disclosing personal information about myself,” the actor told the Juilliard Journal.
So, Luke Macfarlane may have a boyfriend in 2021, it could be Wentworth Miller, but he wants to retain some distance between himself and the rest of the world. Except for his woodworking skills, you won’t find much on his Instagram page.
