Kim Nam Gil and Lee Joo Bin are reportedly in discussions to headline the upcoming courtroom drama “The Shady Lawyer” (literal title).

On August 11, JTBC Entertainment News reported that Kim Nam Gil had been offered the lead role in the new courtroom caper drama. His agency confirmed that he had received the offer and was “positively considering” the role.

Then, on August 20, reports revealed that Lee Joo Bin had also been approached to join the cast. Her agency confirmed that she had received an offer and was also positively reviewing it.

About “The Shady Lawyer”

“The Shady Lawyer” is described as a courtroom caper drama set in the world of damages lawsuits, one of the most unpredictable and potentially lucrative areas of civil litigation.

The story takes place within a civil litigation system that handles around 12,000 cases every day, with lawsuits involving a combined 52 trillion won (approximately $37 billion). At the center of the drama are B-list lawyers who enter a fierce “war for money” while providing unconventional comfort to people exhausted by empty ideas of law and justice.

Kim Nam Gil has been offered the role of Jang Do Young, a lawyer who views the harsh world of litigation as the ultimate gambling table.

“The Shady Lawyer” is planned to air on ENA, with filming scheduled to begin in early 2027.
