Xie Gang Shan is a member of the undercover police force that has effectively penetrated the most powerful drug trafficking organization. Sadly, he passed away due to an accident right when his objective was about to reach its pinnacle point.

Sui Gong, the captain of the drug trade police squad, does not want any of the benefits of his effort to go to waste, so he takes use of some new technology and implants Xie Gang Shan’s memories into a death row inmate who looks identical to Xie Gang Shan. As a result, “Xie Gang Shan” was brought back to life and resumed his duties as a police officer as if nothing had happened to him.

Following an event in which he mistakenly shot a violent offender, memories belonging to the violent offender who was sentenced to death began to slowly return to him… The perpetrator of the crime is revealed to be none other than Mu Kun’s own son, who also happens to be the head of the criminal organization.

As Xie Gang Shan attempts to reconcile the opposing aspects of his identity and memory, he decides to look into the circumstances behind the death of his father. While he is grappling with his own personality shift, he approaches this case with the mindset and thought process of a twisted killer. Simultaneously, the shadowy figure of the caricature specialist Shen Liu Fei materializes by his side. Shen Liu Fei doesn’t appear to be either his friend or his antagonist; rather, it seems as though he is assisting him in solving the mystery while simultaneously concealing his own purpose.

Jing Gang Shan suffers the betrayal of his family and the misunderstanding of his fellow comrades, all of which contribute to the gradual corruption of his heart as he comes to understand that he is a replacement. However, as he learns more and more about the character of human people, he finds that his trust in “kindness” is gradually being restored. Jing Gang Shan made a solemn vow to better himself as a person and as a law enforcement officer.
