Gugu Mbatha-Raw Husband
She prefers to keep her personal life a secret, as do many other celebrities who are subjected to constant scrutiny from the media and paparazzi. She had dated a few men in the past, but she never shared too many details about them or the events that transpired between her and her partners in crime.
Gugu is not married and does not have children at the time of writing. She is currently unattached and content with her personal life.
Although we haven’t heard much about Gugu’s romantic life, that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been keeping herself busy in other ways. Gugu paid a visit to Rwandan refugee camps in the summer of 2018. It was Gugu’s first visit before announcing herself as a high-profile supporter of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Despite the fact that she is extremely busy with acting, she also enjoys her philanthropic work.
She returned to Uganda a year after her first trip and spent another month there. As part of her research, she visited and interviewed residents of the Rwamanja Refugee Settlement, which is located in the Kamwenge district in southwestern Uganda. At the time, the Burundian refugee crisis was one of the most neglected refugee camps in the world, which only served to motivate her to do more to help them and spread the word about their plight through her social media channels.
Since her first visit to Rwanda, she has not stopped raising awareness about the health and well-being of the refugees living in the camp, which she began doing in 2009. In addition, she actively shares her photographs from her 2019 return to Rwanda, as well as photographs from other refugee camps in various countries.
Not only that, but Gugu also makes full use of her social media platform to express her views on feminism and other topics. She identified as a feminist and has been actively involved in the #TimesUp and other social justice movements.
Despite the fact that she is overly private about her personal life and relationships, she never loses her voice when it comes to issues that matter and are essential for many people, especially after her role in Belle, which she described as one of her turning points in her contribution to the feminism movement.

Knowing what she has been up to for the past decade, it is understandable that Gugu might leave a little wiggle room for her own personal life. However, this does not quell our inquisitiveness about Gugu’s love life. So, let’s take a closer look at all of her previous romantic endeavours together.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw Boyfriend Harry Lloyd
Gugu was rumoured to be dating Game of Thrones actor Harry Lloyd at one point. However, it has been a long time since they were together. They ended their relationship in 2012, and Gugu hasn’t been seen with anyone else since then, despite the fact that it’s been nearly a decade.
Harry and Gugu appear to have one thing in common: they have both maintained the secrecy surrounding their personal lives. As a result, it is extremely difficult to learn any specifics about their relationships. Despite the fact that they ended their relationship in 2012, we have no way of knowing when they first started dating or how long they were together – let alone the reason for their break up.
Harry, like Gugu, didn’t appear to be involved with anyone after the breakup occurred. The only way to know for sure is that either he enjoys his single life as well, or he simply hasn’t revealed it to the public in order to maintain his peaceful and secretive lifestyle.
The fact that Harry does not even have a social media account indicates that he takes his privacy to a whole new level.
Gugu and Nate Parker Relationship
Following Gugu’s breakup with Harry, there was a rumour that she began dating another actor, Nate Parker, which was later proven false. The rumour started after Nate and Gugu starred in a romantic drama film called Beyond the Lights, which was released in the United States. The critically acclaimed film went on to become a commercial success, bringing Nate and Gugu closer together than they had ever been.
The two were also spotted at a couple of red carpet events for the film in support of it. They were frequently photographed together, and they would make an excellent couple.
The unfortunate thing is that neither of them ever addressed the rumour, and no one confirmed anything. As a result, it has remained a rumour up until this point.
Gugu & Sam Reid to End Slavery in Belle
One more red carpet moment that Gugu shared with someone was with Sam Reid, who is also her co-star in the film Belle.
As previously stated, Belle is the film that has made the most significant contribution to Gugu’s contribution to feminism and has shaped Gugu’s opinion on the subject. As a result, she attaches great importance to this film.
Gugu was cast as the illegitimate mixed-race daughter of a Royal Navy officer in the film, which was released in 2015. Her uncle brought her up to be an aristocratic lady. Due to the colour of Belle’s skin, she had a difficult time fitting in with society. This film brought attention to the difficulties faced by people of colour and those who are considered outcasts.”
She then fell in love with John Daviner, a romantic idealist who is played by Sam Reid in the film. Slavery in England was brought to an end by both John and Dido Belle, and Sam was appointed as the country’s Lord Chief Justice.
A great deal of positive feedback was received for this film. First and foremost, however, because of the plot and storyline. However, we must not forget that the on-screen chemistry between Sam and Gugu was also a significant factor in the film’s success.
Since their outstanding performance in this film, the rumour hasn’t been able to keep its momentum.
Gugu and Sam also drew the attention of the audience at the Belle premiere in New York with their outfits and makeup.
It was primarily because the two of them were absolutely stunning, and their outfits were spectacular! Gugu sported a long green satin dress that she accessorised with gold and yellow jewellery, and she styled her curls into a chic updo for the occasion.
Sam’s appearance is also deserving of consideration. He opted for a more contemporary red carpet look, which included a black tie, a white shirt, and a blue suit. I’m not going to lie, he looks absolutely stunning in that outfit!
A lot of people couldn’t help but wish they could be something like Sam and Gugu in real life after seeing their photos together. So it’s no surprise that the rumour of them dating spread more quickly than Gugu and Sam anticipated.
Unfortunately, there was nothing happening between the two of them. However, Gugu and Sam were only good friends who helped and supported each other; there was no spark of romance between Gugu and Sam.
