Story
Wish You All the Best is a historical romance set against the backdrop of maritime trade, coastal prosperity, and growing danger from Japanese pirates in China.
The story begins in Changle County, Fuzhou Prefecture, a coastal area known for its connection to maritime trade. It was also the place where the famous eunuch Sanbao trained before embarking on his journey westward. During a period when the maritime ban had caused trade in many regions to decline, Changle experienced the opposite. Its thriving commercial activity turned the coastal region into a prosperous center of business.
However, Changle’s growing wealth soon attracted unwanted attention. Japanese pirates began targeting the prosperous coastal waters, threatening merchant ships and the people whose livelihoods depended on maritime trade.
Amid this dangerous situation, Pei You An, the deputy commander of the Shenjiying, arrives in the region to purchase firearms. What begins as a military-related mission unexpectedly draws him into the escalating conflict at sea. He is invited to participate in a coastal patrol, but the routine assignment quickly turns into a life-threatening confrontation.
During the patrol, Pei You An encounters a fierce naval battle. Japanese pirate ships are surrounding and attacking Chinese merchant vessels, leaving the ships and their passengers in serious danger. Among the merchant ships caught in the attack is the vessel belonging to Zhen Jia Fu’s family.
The unexpected encounter brings Pei You An and Zhen Jia Fu together under extremely dangerous circumstances. Their meeting becomes the turning point of both their lives. While Pei You An is determined to deal with the threat at sea, Jia Fu is facing difficulties of her own.
Jia Fu is under pressure to enter a forced marriage, leaving her with little control over her own future. To help her escape this unwanted arrangement, Pei You An makes a bold decision. He agrees to enter into a marriage contract with Jia Fu, giving her a way out of the forced marriage.
At first, their relationship is based more on necessity than romance. Their marriage contract allows Jia Fu to avoid the fate that has been imposed upon her, while Pei You An has his own responsibilities and dangers to face. Despite their unusual circumstances, the two gradually become closer.
As they spend more time together, their relationship slowly changes. What begins as a practical arrangement develops into genuine affection. Through dangerous situations, family conflicts, and the uncertainties surrounding them, Pei You An and Jia Fu learn to trust and rely on each other.
Their journey is far from easy. The dangers created by the Japanese pirates, complicated family relationships, and the pressures surrounding their marriage constantly test their growing bond. Yet, instead of allowing these difficulties to separate them, the hardships bring them closer together.
Pei You An and Jia Fu eventually realize that their relationship is no longer simply a marriage contract. Their feelings have become sincere, and the two begin to choose each other despite the obstacles standing in their way.
After enduring numerous hardships and overcoming the challenges surrounding their lives, Pei You An and Zhen Jia Fu finally become a true couple. Their story combines historical conflict, maritime adventure, family struggles, and a slow-burning romance as two people who initially come together for practical reasons gradually find genuine love.
