In 2007, Hudgens returned to the character of Gabriella in the sequel to High School Musical, which was released on August 17th. With over 17.2 million viewers in the United States, nearly 10 million more than its predecessor, the premiere was the most-watched Disney Channel Original Movie ever, making it the most-watched of all time.

Beginning on June 8, the Disney Channel broadcasted a weekly show titled Road to High School Musical 2, which served as a lead-in to the August debut of the film High School Musical 2. The show provided viewers with a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the filming of the movie in question.

The film earned generally positive reviews from critics. ‘High School Musical 2′ received three out of four stars from Robert Bianco of USA Today, who described the picture as sweet, witty, brimming with talent and energy, and soaked in innocence.’

While the film was well-received by critics, some expressed concern over the timing of the film’s release, which occurred just before school was about to resume, despite the fact that the film’s premise had the gang going on summer vacation.

Her second studio album, Identified, was released on July 1, 2008, and it was her first to be certified platinum. In its first week, it sold 22,000 copies, which was 12,000 fewer than V. Although album sales were down, the album debuted at number 23 on the Billboard 200, one position higher than the previous album V.

When the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020, Hudgens made an Instagram video in which she declared that it was “inevitable” that people would die as a result of the outbreak.

The video sparked debate, with opponents accusing her of downplaying the severity of the condition and the need of taking preventive measures to avoid it. It was later revealed that she had apologized for her “insensitive” statements.

Photos reportedly stolen from Hudgens were released online on September 6, 2007, one of which depicted her posing in lingerie and the other of which depicted her in her underwear. According to a statement from her representative, the photograph had been shot privately and it was terrible that it had been made public through the Internet.

Hudgens later apologized, stating that she was “embarrassed by the incident” and that she “regretted [having] taken [those] images.” Hudgens also expressed sorrow for having “taken [those] photos.”  After making a statement in January 2008, Hudgens stated that she would not be commenting further on the matter.

Hudgens was reportedly dropped from High School Musical 3 in October 2007 as a result of the explicit images, but the Walt Disney Company categorically denied this, stating, “Hudgens will not be dropped from High School Musical 3 as a result of the explicit images.” “Vanessa has expressed regret for what was clearly a lapse in judgment on her part. We hope she’s taken something away from this experience.”

“When people ask me if I would be willing to do nudity in a film and I say no because it is something I am not comfortable with, they respond with, ‘Bullshit, you’ve already done it.’ If anything, it makes it more awkward because it was something that happened in private. It’s a shame that someone would take advantage of me in that manner. At the very least, some people are taking note of my error.”

In an article published by Us Weekly, it was reported that new naked photographs were revealed on the Internet on March 15, 2011.

Vanessa Hudgens Dating History

Vanessa Hudgens has had a succession of serious relationships and little flings with celebrities and athletes after her romance with actor Zac Efron ended. Here’s where you can learn more about her dating history!

In 2003, Vanessa Hudgens made her acting debut in the teen drama Thirteen, which launched her career. She is now a well-known actress and singer. It wasn’t until she made her Broadway debut as Gabriella Montez in High School Musical that she began to gain widespread recognition. Vanessa met her soon-to-be co-star Zac Efron, 34, while auditioning for the hit Disney musical, and the two were romantically involved immediately after meeting one other.

Following their divorce in 2010, the Knight Before Christmas actress went on to date a slew of other stars and athletes. Here’s where you can learn more about Vanessa’s most recent relationships.

Vanessa Hudgens Boyfriend Zac Efron

Following their co-starring roles in the hit Disney musical High School Musical, Zac and Vanessa met for the first time and began dating. The franchise propelled both of their careers and established them as one of the most beloved Disney couples of all time.

Vanessa expressed how “grateful” she was to have had a relationship with Zac so early in her professional life. As she explained, “It’s just a really strange and foreign experience to be going through, and being in a relationship I feel like it helped to keep me balanced and grounded, and I had someone to lean on who was going through it with me,” she added.

A source told E! online at the time that the couple’s romance had simply “run its course.” The couple eventually parted ways in 2010. After Vanessa ended her relationship with her next significant boyfriend, Austin Butler, in 2019, HSM fans hoped she would reunite with Zac, which resulted in the nickname “Zanessa” becoming popular on the social media platform.

As heartwarming and nostalgic as it would be for them to discover love again a decade after their divorce, a reunion is quite unlikely to happen. When asked if she had a lot of conversations with Zac during a 2017 interview on Access Hollywood Live, Vanessa said, “Um, no.” It seems as though I’ve entirely lost touch with him.”

Vanessa Hudgens Boyfriend Josh Hutcherson

Following their co-starring role in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Vanessa was linked to actor Josh Hutcherson in early 2011, according to reports. While discussing his connection with the Spring Breakers actress, Josh told Seventeen magazine later that year, “I’m not sure ‘dating’ is the proper word.”

Despite the fact that their relationship had not been formally confirmed, they clumsily and unintentionally announced their separation on Australia’s TODAY while promoting their film in the spring of 2012. “We were [going out] at one point,” Josh explains in the video, “but she destroyed my heart — no, I’m not serious. She broke my heart.” The Hunger Games actress went on to clarify that they were “at one point” romantically involved, but that they are now “just friends” today.

Vanessa Hudgens Boyfriend Astin Butler

After Zac, Austin Butler was Vanessa’s second significant boyfriend, and the two were together for over nine years before parting ways. Carrie Diaries star Vanessa Hudgens and Vanessa Hudgens’ relationship began in September 2011, and they made their public debut as a couple at the Journey 2: The Mysterious Island premiere in February 2012.

Although they had been dating for nearly two years, Vanessa didn’t officially announce their relationship until 2014, when she shared a heartfelt Instagram tribute to her beau, calling him “the love of my life.”

After failing to spend the holidays together in 2018, the couple ignited breakup rumors in the new year. They officially ended their relationship a month later. “Vanessa and Austin have officially ended their relationship, and Vanessa has informed people close to her about the split,” a source told Us Weekly at the time of the split.

Vanessa Hudgens Ex-Boyfriend Kyle Kuzma

The Princess Switch actress was briefly linked to Kyle Kuzma, 28, in January 2020, when the two were spotted out on a dinner date in Brooklyn, just seven days after she separated from her ex-husband, Austin. Kyle is a professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers, and Vanessa was seen sitting courtside at one of the team’s home games in Los Angeles. Unfortunately for them, their romance was short-lived and didn’t really develop into anything more than a fleeting fling.

Vanessa Hudgens Boyfriend Cole Tucker

Vanessa’s current boyfriend, Cole Tucker, appears to be the love of her life, and the two appear to be happier than ever. On Valentine’s Day 2021, Vanessa posted a photo of the two of them kissing with the caption, “It’s you, it’s me, it’s us.”

The duo later confirmed their relationship on Twitter. Cole is a professional baseball shortstop and outfielder who plays for the Pittsburgh Pirates of the Major League Baseball. A series of sweet images with friends and family, including Vanessa, was released on April 22 by the Major League Baseball player, demonstrating how close the pair had grown since they were first caught getting intimate in November 2020.

“Cole adores Vanessa and treats her as if she is a queen. At first, people were a little suspicious of his abilities. The insider told the newspaper that “no one really anticipated it to endure because he’s just in his early twenties and a pro athlete,” she explained. “However, he has been really serious about her from the beginning, and this has not changed. Her admiration and constant declarations that she is his “dream girl” are heartwarming to hear.”

“Vanessa, on the other hand, is quite smitten with him,” the insider continued. She paid him a visit in Florida last month while he was in the midst of Spring Training. “All of the other wives and girlfriends were quite welcoming, and she had a great day,” they remarked.

For her, it’s an unfamiliar environment. She is more accustomed to dealing with businessmen and appreciates that Cole is different in this regard. It’s a completely different world for her to be a part of. She’s undeniably head over heels in love and ecstatic.”
