How to use Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream

Only apply this medication topically to the affected area. Unless your physician specifically instructs you to do so, you should avoid getting it on your face, in your groyne, or under your arms.

Make sure your hands are clean and dry. First, thoroughly clean and dry the affected region before applying the medication. When using the drug, spread a small layer over the affected area and gently rub it in. This should be done anywhere from two to four times each day, or as advised by your doctor. If your doctor has not instructed you to do so, do not cover, bandage, or wrap the region in question.

Wash your hands well after applying the medication, unless you are also using it to treat your hands. When administering this medication near the eyes, take care not to get any of it in your eyes because doing so could make glaucoma worse or even induce it. Additionally, make sure you don’t get any of this medication in your nose or mouth. Rinse your eyes, nose, and mouth thoroughly with plenty of water if you get any of the medication in those areas.

Take this drug exactly as directed, only for the problem that you have. Do not use it for a longer period of time than what is recommended.

Notify your primary care physician if your issue persists or worsens.

This can result in the undesirable side effects of taking an excessive amount of corticosteroids. Children, as well as adults who use this drug for an extended period of time or across vast portions of their skin, are at a greater risk of experiencing these adverse effects. Notify your physician as soon as possible if any of the following adverse effects take place: Unexpected or excessive fatigue, loss of weight, headache, swelling in the ankles and feet, increased thirst and urine, and eyesight issues are all potential side effects.

It is quite unusual for this medicine to cause an extremely severe allergic reaction. However, you should seek immediate medical attention if you detect any symptoms of a significant allergic reaction, such as a rash, itching/swelling (particularly of the face/tongue/throat), extreme dizziness, or difficulty breathing. These symptoms may indicate anaphylaxis.

Precautions

Inform your doctor or pharmacist that you are allergic to triamcinolone, as well as to any other corticosteroids (such as hydrocortisone or prednisone), or if you have any other allergies before beginning treatment with triamcinolone. There is a possibility that this product contains inactive substances, which, if present, could result in allergic responses or other complications. Discuss the matter further with your pharmacist for further information.

If you have a history of poor blood circulation or difficulties with your immune system, you should discuss this with your doctor or pharmacist before beginning treatment with this drug.

If there is an infection or a wound in the area that has to be treated, do not use this product.

It is possible that using corticosteroid drugs for an extended period of time or applying them to big regions of skin could make it more challenging for your body to react to the effects of physical stress. Tell your doctor or dentist if you are currently taking this medicine or if you have taken it within the past few months. This is especially important if you are scheduled for surgery, require immediate medical attention, or suffer from a major sickness or accident.

If taken over an extended period of time, this medicine may, while it is quite unlikely, cause a child’s growth to be temporarily stunted. Make regular trips to the paediatrician so that the doctor can measure your child’s growth.

During pregnancy, it is important to only use this drug when it is absolutely necessary. Talk to your healthcare provider about the potential drawbacks and advantages.

When administered to the skin, it is unknown whether or not this medication makes its way into a nursing mother’s milk supply. Other drugs in this family that are taken by mouth are also excreted into breast milk. Before starting to breastfeed, you should talk to your healthcare provider.
