Sharma received his undergraduate degree from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, and then enrolled in the post-graduate program at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). After some time, he decided not to continue his education at JNU and instead enrolled in the postgraduate program at the University of Delhi’s Delhi School of Economics. During his time spent preparing for the civil service exam, Sharma stated that he would compile his own notes with the assistance of newspapers. He concentrated his efforts on drills to improve his public speaking and answer writing.

Sharma stated that she would be willing to accept the responsibility that would be bestowed upon her as a result of her own passion in empowering women and advancing education.
