In April, fans binge-watched the most current set of episodes of Netflix’s USA Network blockbuster, Queen of the South. Queen of the South Season 6 Renewal Status

Season 6 of Queen of the South will not be returning. USA Network confirmed the news in August, just a few months after the show’s fifth season debuted.

Unfortunately for those who are only now becoming aware of Queen of the South, the show was terminated in March 2021, a month before the fifth and last season aired. After 62 episodes, the series finale aired on USA Network on June 9, 2021.

In reducing the number of scripted episodes created expressly for USA Network, NBCUniversal cancelled Queen of the South Season 6. The company’s new strategy is to focus on reality programming in the United States while developing scripted productions primarily for Peacock.

The sitcom was co-created by NBCUniversal’s Universal Content Productions and 20th Century Fox Television. Nevertheless, since Disney rebranded 20th Television, Queen of the South is no longer included.

Why was the Queen of the South Season 6 canceled?

Around a month before Season 5 premiered in March 2021, Netflix stated that it would be the series’ final season. “For five amazing seasons, Queen of the South has captured us with brilliant narrative and engaging characters,” said Entertainment Networks chairperson Frances Berwick in a release.
