Lee Jae Wook and Jo Bo Ah in Talks to Star in New Novel-Based K-drama. According to several media insiders on April 19th, Lee Jae Wook and Jo Bo Ah are in discussions to star in a new Korean drama based on a novel. The upcoming drama, titled Tangeum (working title), will feature both actors as the lead characters.
C-JES Studio, Lee Jae Wook’s agency, confirmed that the actor received an offer to star in the drama and is currently reviewing it. KeyEast, Jo Bo Ah’s agency, also responded positively to the casting reports and said that the actress is considering the role.
The story of Tangeum is based on a novel written by Jang Da Hye. The drama will be directed by Kim Hong Seon, known for his work on Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area – Part 1 and Voice. The script will be written by Ko Yeong Jae, the screenwriter for Dr. Brain.
If Lee Jae Wook decides to accept the offer, Tangeum will be his third upcoming drama following Royal Loader and Death’s Game. He also appeared in the Netflix original film Kill Bok Soon in 2023 and led the two seasons of Alchemy of Souls last year.
Meanwhile, this drama may also be Jo Bo Ah’s second upcoming project as she is set to lead the K-drama Destined With You alongside SF9’s Rowoon, Ha Joon, Girls Day’s Yura, Hyun Bong Sik, and Park Kyung Hye.

Jo Bo Ah is a South Korean actress who has starred in various Korean dramas, movies, and TV shows. She was born on August 22, 1991, in Daejeon, South Korea. Jo Bo Ah began her acting career in 2011 with a supporting role in the drama “I Live in Cheongdam-dong”. She gained recognition for her leading role in the 2013 drama “Shut Up Flower Boy Band”. Some of her other notable works include “Missing Noir M” (2015), “Goodbye Mr. Black” (2016), “Temperature of Love” (2017), and “Tale of the Nine-Tailed” (2020). Jo Bo Ah has won several awards for her performances, including the Best Actress Award at the 2020 Korean Drama Awards.
