Guang Zhou Shi San Xing Drama Summary Plot
It relates the narrative of a group of Guangdong merchants and their adventures amidst the changing historical tide during the late Qing Dynasty. The time period covered the late Qing Dynasty. Yihe Hang, one of the Thirteen Factories (thirteen hongs) involved in trade with Western merchants in China, was established by Wu Dunyuan. Yihe Hang was one of the Thirteen Factories.
After arriving in China with his father, the British adolescent Staunton quickly became involved in commercial transactions with Wu Dunyuan (also known as Zhu Yawen). Following this, Wu Dunyuan went on to find Yihe Hang in Canton. After finishing his education, Staunton obtained a position with the East India Company. Because Wu Dunyuan has been selling English tea of poor quality, the two get back together after a long separation.
During the course of Wu Dunyuan’s investigation into the matter, the recipe for frying tea was uncovered. Following this, Wu Dunyuan is falsely accused of crimes, and his Yihe Hang is abruptly closed down by authority. Lao Tan finds a means to get his hands on the ledger that will establish that the customs supervisor Ji Shan is corrupt so that he may save Wu Dunyuan. This is necessary for Lao Tan to do. Li’er, the youngest daughter of a successful businessman named Lu Wenzhong, brings the ledger to the capital city in order to present it to the imperial court as evidence in the case.
After he was released from imprisonment, Wu Dunyuan was successful in transforming Yihe Hang into one of the most prosperous hongs. After a number of years, he is now one of the wealthiest persons in the entire globe. In May of 1840, as the First Opium War was getting underway, the British government made the decision to send troops to Guangzhou. When it comes to defending his nation, Wu Dunyuan maintains his morality and integrity, and he makes a solemn oath that the Chinese people would never again be subjected to the same humiliation.
