The show was unexpectedly canceled last year.
Fans of Good Girls were saddened when it was announced that the show had been terminated after its fourth season, which seemed to come as a surprise to almost everyone involved.
One of the show’s stars has intimated that the lack of renewal was down to one individual a year later.
Retta stated on Live with Kelly and Ryan that she was still “salty” about the axe, claiming that “one person wrecked it for all of the cast and crew, and therefore it’s not coming back.”
“I suppose it was too near to when [the authors] had to start [season 5 scripts] and work out story [to write that guy out].”

This comes after TVLine reported last year that actor Mae Whitman, Retta, and Christina Hendricks all agreed to take wage cuts in order to return for a shorter final season, but Manny Montana — who the publication also claims did not get along with Hendricks — did not.
He declined to respond to TVLine when reached both last year and this week, and it’s worth noting that Retta makes no mention of any names or professions associated with that ‘one individual’ in her interview.
Hendricks commented when the cancellation was revealed last year: “We certainly gave it our all. We truly did. Thank you to all of our fantastic fans over the years for your dedication and support.”
“Feeling too sad and confused to look at my phone,” Whitman said, “but just a small glimpse back at some of the finest times with my girls.”
“I adore my castmates and all of you who enjoyed the show. It was a pleasure to be Annie, and I will be eternally thankful to you for your support. [All right, I’ll] go cry now, love you.”
Good Girls is accessible on Netflix in its entirety.
