Jack Black Wife
Irrespective of whether you’re a new Jack Black fan or have been following him from the early days of Tenacious D, it’s tough to dispute that this artist possesses exceptional natural ability. It’s no secret that the 51-year-old actor understands how to make people laugh, and he’s been doing it for more than two decades.
However, when it comes to his personal life, the comedic star isn’t quite as forthcoming. Did you even know he had a wife and children? An inside glimpse at Tanya Haden’s life as Jack Black’s wife, as told by her own words.
Who Is Jack Black Wife?
Tanya Haden was born on the 11th of October, 1971, in the New York City borough of Queens. An accomplished musician and singer, she is the daughter of Charlie Haden, a well-known jazz bassist, and the triplet sister of two other musicians, both of whom are musicians themselves. Haden also has a brother who is a bassist for a rock band named Spain, which they both enjoy. It’s clear that musical ability runs in her family!
Haden, along with her sisters Petra and Rachel, makes up one-third of the Hayden Triplets, a family of three sisters who live in the same house. It was in 2014 that they launched their debut vocal CD, and since then they have toured the country together. ‘I’ve been singing with my sisters since we were youngsters,’ says the 49-year-old musician, who was born into a musical family.
The San Diego Union-Tribune published an interview with her in 2009 in which she explained how she and her bandmates “simply start singing a song and automatically fall into specific harmonies.” In our childhood, we would spend the night at our grandparents’ house on our mother’s side, which was very enjoyable for us because we would share a room and sing in unison before going to bed.
Haden is also a gifted cellist who has performed all over the world. She has shared the stage with a number of noteworthy bands, including the Silversun Pickups, Sea Wolf, and the Warlocks.
Jack Black Got Married To Tanya Haden in 2006
Jack Black and Tanya Haden had been dating for a long time when they sealed the knot in 2011. During their time at Crossroads School, a performing arts and sciences high school in Santa Monica, California, the two first became acquainted as adolescents. Black claims that it was love at first sight for him, despite the fact that it took him 15 years to eventually ask Haden out on a date.
During a 2013 interview with The Sun, the Jumanji star admitted that he had “wasted 15 years” waiting for his chance to work with him (as reported by the Irish Examiner). “She was everything I could have hoped for and more. In addition to being talented and beautiful, she is also a fantastic performer on stage. She used to be a member of a group known as The Haden Triplets. We met while working on a student film, but we didn’t start dating until later.”
As for Hayden, Black said that he had been watching her perform with her sisters at various venues, adoring her from a distance. She and her sisters would often perform in bars around town, and I used to like watching them. I would stand in the shadows and observe, whisper some compliments, and then shuffle away. As a result, I would only visit her every couple of years.”
If only Black had had the confidence to ask her out when they ran into each other again in 2005, things could have turned out differently. They married a year later, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Jack Black And Tanya Haden Kids
In June of 2006, Haden gave birth to the couple’s first son, Samuel Jason, who is now a teenager. Their second son, Thomas David, was born two years after the first. The boys, who are now 15 and 13, spend a lot of quality time with their Hollywood father, who acknowledges that he occasionally lets them watch movies that they shouldn’t.
“Every now and again, I win the prize for being the worst parent of the year,” he quipped on an Australian radio show in 2019. (as reported by The Daily Mail). “As long as you have the remote in your hand, you can pause the show and have a quick chat if something gets out of hand. For as long as you’re present and aware of what’s going on, and you’re prepared to speak with them or to leave if the situation becomes too stressful.”
In addition, Black claims that his sons have acquired the creative genes of their parents. According to the proud pop, in a 2019 interview with People, his children have been “very creative lately.” “They’ve both created some really cool little short videos using their iPhones. It gives me great pleasure to express my gratitude and pride in my family.”
Jack Black And Tanya Haden Hilariously Covered ‘Shallow’ Together
Despite the fact that it took so many years for the Tropic Thunder actor to confess his feelings for Hayden, he was warmly accepted into her extremely gifted and musical family as soon as he did. In fact, back in 2009, Black was given the opportunity to record a track for one of his late father-in-albums, the law’s which we described as an honor, and which he expressed his gratitude for.
When he was invited to appear on the Haden family album, he said, “I finally felt like I was truly a part of the family,” according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. “Even though I was already married to Tanya and we had children, when I was invited to appear on the Haden family album, it finally felt like I was truly part of the family.” “Tanya’s family has always been a favorite of mine. Throughout the years, the entire family has served as a fascinating source of mystery.”
Hayden will occasionally take the stage with her husband, who is a member of the School of Rock — and the results are almost always hilarious. For example, when they sang the Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga duet “Shallow,” we were amazed at how they managed to keep a straight face!
