Ping An Ning and Lin An Jing are stepbrothers who have the same father but different mothers. They inherited Lin Zhong Dao’s musical talent. They both love the same girl, Wei Lan. An Ning’s mother Ping Yi selected Western flute studies for her son.

While An Jing follows his father’s steps and learns classical flute Shakuhachi. At a concert abroad An Ning was the student leader and he canceled An Jing’s solo performance. So the relationship between the two brothers ended up on bad terms. An Jing confesses his love to Wei Lan but she refuses because she loves An Ning. An Jing goes into depression and gives upon himself. But An Ning and Wei Lan constantly try to encourage him.
