Sal Vulcano Biography

Salvatore Edward Anthony Vulcano is a stand-up and improv comedian, actor, and producer from the Staten Island borough of New York City. He is a member of The Tenderloins, a comedy troupe that includes himself, James Murray, Brian Quinn, and Joe Gatto, who was previously Joe Gatto.

He co-stars in the television series Impractical Jokers alongside the other members of The Tenderloins, which premiered on TruTV on December 15, 2011.

Sal Vulcano Early life

Vulcano is of Italian, Cuban, and Puerto Rican origin and was born on Staten Island. He went to Monsignor Farrell High School, where he was a member of the Improvisation Club, which he joined with Gatto, Murray, and Quinn as a method to express themselves and meet females.

He graduated from St. John’s University with a bachelor’s degree in 1998.

Sal Vulcano Career

Murray, Gatto, and Vulcano regrouped after graduating from college and resumed practicing improvisation in Gatto’s house, eventually going on to tour as an improv and sketch comedy troupe called The Tenderloins in 1999.

The Tenderloins began collaborating on comic sketches, which they shared on YouTube, MySpace, and Metacafe, amassing millions of views. For the sketch “Time Thugs,” the ensemble won the $100,000 grand prize in the NBC It’s Your Show competition in 2007.

Impractical Jokers began on TruTV on December 15, 2011, and its first season drew over 32 million views. The show has become TruTV’s most popular series, propelling Vulcano into the spotlight. Sal was the show’s most reprimanded joker as of November 2017.

The Misery Index, hosted by Jameela Jamil and based on Andy Breckman’s card game “Shit Happens,” featured Vulcano and the other members of The Tenderloins in 2019. The show has been picked up for a third season.

Vulcano was renamed Prince Herb for the rest of the show’s season, as well as in all of his media appearances, in February 2021, as a result of punishment on the show.  On April 29, 2021, the punishment episode aired.

What Say You?, a Volcano and Quinn-hosted infrequent podcast, won Best New Show at the 2013 Stitcher Awards.

Because of the rising success of What Say You, Gatto and Murray decided to start their own Tenderloins podcast without the other two members. At the 10th Annual Podcast Awards in 2015, What Say You? was nominated for the Comedy, Entertainment, and Best Produced Podcast Awards.

The podcast is their own side project, not a replacement for The Tenderloins Podcast, they have declared. The ensemble claimed that coordinating the schedules of all four members outside of work was tough, making it difficult to produce their troupe’s official podcast on a regular basis.

Vulcano has germophobia, acrophobia, and ailurophobia, to name a few.  He stated on an episode of Impractical Jokers that he was hit by a car when he was four years old. As a result of punishment on the show, Vulcano has a tattoo of Jaden Smith on his left thigh.

Sal Vulcano Wife

Sal exposed his personal life and tastes in an interview with OC Weekly. He revealed that he despises continental breakfast, is not a germaphobe (a person who is preoccupied with hygiene), and goes by the nickname Ja’Crispy.

He did not, however, reveal anything about his personal life, including who he is dating or his previous indiscretions.

Despite the fact that he is not married, he officiated at the wedding of one of his closest friends, Joe.

The person said they were at Vulcano’s gig in Boston when the Impractical Jokers star was spotted wearing a wedding band by the audience.

Someone in the audience yelled something about the ring, and the comedian allegedly revealed his marital status.

“He said something about how he usually keeps things like that private, but since it was brought up, he’d say something.” He only said how long they’d been together (8 years) and how much he adores her.”

Vulcano said his wife was at the performance, but they didn’t see her personally, according to the user.

While there was no mention of the comic’s wedding, the identity of Vulcano’s wife, Francesca Muffaletto, was disclosed.

Muffaletto’s Facebook page also has a photo from January 2017 in which she and Vulcano are seen celebrating someone’s 30th birthday.

While Vulcano’s face is obscured in the photograph, the man in the photograph has a Celtic Cross tattooed on his right wrist, which matches Vulcano’s tattoo exactly.

Vulcano has previously stated that he was engaged. In a June 2019 visit on Robert Kelly’s You Know What Dude, Kelly described Vulcano and his fiancee as the “sweetest” and “nicest” individuals he had ever met.

Vulcano expressed gratitude for Kelly’s words and made a remark about his fiancee. He said, “Yeah, she’s fantastic.”
